Try taking the SAT. Some kids do better on that. Keep re-taking the test and remember it is about the Whole Candidate, not just academics, but they play a very large part in the selection.

I can't recall off the top of my head but I believe the overall is @28-30.

Your package isn't due until Mar...keep plugging away

if you wait till mar to send everything in though your chances will be hurt some, since most of the slots are almost decided by then

Speaking of that. Quick question. When do the first round of kids have everything sent in an finished? Will they start making selections from those kids right away, or wait for "the majority" to finish the application before they send out LOA's...(or whatever they decide to send)?

The majority will be sent out in March, but LOAs will start going out as early as October.

LOA's are very rare...top of the top! I believe they stated somewhere the avg is 100-200 per yr. Early decision is @ 30% (appt b4 March), the other 1K are in the mass mailings which occur in March. Falcon is correct you can be hurt by not having your entire package in by Mar., however, the MOC appt. cannot be given out until the entire slate has submitted their package.

In other words, your Sen. noms you in Nov., the other 9 have their package in, but you don't finish until Feb 25th. They can't charge against the MOC until everyone has their WCS. The highest WCS gets that appt.

In NC, Dole and Burr did not submit their slate until the 1st week of Jan.

Remember, you are putting the cart before the horse. All you need to be appointed is 1 nom, however, you can't even get the nom if the AFA has deemed you not competitive. This is where Upatel is at. The ACT score is not viable or competitive scoring purpose in the PAR.

As far as LOA's, our good friend's son started being recruited by the USAFA for swimming ly ---Oct 07, they have offered an LOA, he is a child of a retired military member (qualified for presidential nom), Academically qualified, thus as soon as he passes his Dodmerb, he will have his apptmt.

When do we get a notification from dodmerb telling us to set up a physical? I've been gone for the last month and though it would come but it hasn't. Not worried yet, just asking

Just be honest, b/c they will find it out anyway. If you have a Dodmerb issue, start your waiver process immediately. You can also go to United States of America Service Academy Forums - Powered by vBulletin and ask it under the dodmerb section.

Be forewarned it is very in depth physical. If you are military, you can get it done on base.
