Facebook and Myspace?

So at the AFA, can you use Facebook or Myspace? If I do get appointed, I'd like to stay in touch with my friends from High School. I don't really use Myspace, just Facebook for social reasons.

Because people above you and I said so. That's really what it comes down to in the military - just salute sharply and carry on.

or because its blocked on the usafa server, so u can't access it from usafa, which defeats the point of using it to keep in touch

Out of curiosity has it always been that way, or only since the Megan Meir case? I believe her death was about 2 yrs ago, and the case is being tried in Federal court, which could be a reason. Yet, like Petko stated the military will always be like your parent...because I said so...except you must be the dutiful child and never continue questioning.

Can't tell you how many times Bullet has said I just salute sharply and do waht I am ordered, because they made the decision many pay grades above me.

Not at all. It was blocked in '06/'07 due to issues with hacking. Too many computers were being hacked via myspace, so the military blocked it.

It's also just another matter of time until a new social networking program comes out. Facebook is now being overrun with the types of people that made most people make the switch from myspace. I guess it's just the law of the internet. I remember it was Xanga first, then myspace, now facebook is what's in.
