I know we've talked about this before, but I couldn't find the thread. I know the roommate changes after the 4* year, but do the BCs keep the same roommate after BCT through the 4* year?

txtwinmom it depends on the Squadron. Most will ask who wants to room together. There are fewer girls so less people to change with. Short answer it does happen during 4* year, but a lot will depend on the squadron.

Like ds said, it's completely up to the squadron. All basics should be assigned to rooms alphabetically. Last year, we were then assigned to live with different people at the beginning of first semester, but we got to choose our own roommates when second semester began.

But, just confirming, you always room with your squadron, right? Are the squadrons together by areas in dorms, like - floors or wings? Is it just the 4* who have 3/room or does everyone?

You always live with your squadron unless you're away on exchange or on Wing or Group Staff for the semester. Squadrons do live together by area, yes. Generally, only the four degrees have to go three to a room, though it's not unheard of for three digs to have to triple up. With the renovations that are supposed to be going on this year, that's entirely possible.

Edit: You also don't necessarily live with your squadron during the summer (excluding BCT, of course). Summer room assignments are by program rather than squad.
