To CadCandMateus, as an Active Duty O-6, I'm not sure this controlling and elitist attitude is what I want to see in my Air Force. The originator of this thread who also wrote #14 clearly intended this thread for potential USAFA class of 2013 to be excited about being nominated, receiving an LOA and hopefully acceptances. As it appears your not in the class of 2013, what gives you the right to control this thread? On a side note, I'm glad to see Mr V. Chen apologize!

In CadCandMateus' defense, he was merely following the established tradition of this thread as it was first done back in 2006 for the Class of 2011. Each of these previous threads is referenced in previous year's threads when they were begun, including Post #1 of this thread. That is where txtwinmom stated the purpose of this thread, both in saying it was that "time of year again -- USAFA acceptance letters are going out..." and when she referenced the phrase "post word of their acceptances."

The fact that txtwinmom added the word "nominations" in post 14 notwithstanding, it is perfectly appropriate for the Upperclass, of which CadCandMateus is part, to help insure the "tradition" continues rather than to expand it to those with nominations, but lacking loas/appointments. In his Post #114, he was neither rude nor did he state anything other than past tradition in his attempt to explain the purpose of the thread to a person new to the forum. I'm not trying to be a moderator here, but in my opinion, he has no need to apologize and has every right to "control" the thread as an upperclassman.

yea, the thread's purpose should be maintained, but none of us freshman are upperclassmen to anyone yet, and even those of us who are are upperclassmen are not to appointees. appointees are still civilians.

Just a bit of a misunderstanding, sir. I'm sure no harm was intended. It's all behind us anyway. In the future, I'd suggest having a column for acceptances followed by a column for those who only have a nomination. It'd be the best of both worlds, and seems like a fair solution. If someone wants to second the motion, feel free to separate the list out.
