I-Day cautions

Basics to be....

PLEASE be careful during BCT. You do NOT want to get injured such that you have to leave.

Get off the bus...get off fast...but BE CAREFUL not to trip and fall...anywhere.

The other thing to avoid is "turn back" ball during Field Day. It's not worth it.

Do your cadre just give you the opportunity to not participate in "medical turn back ball"?

Medicine Ball. Very easy to get hurt and end up with a medical turnback.

I do not plan on playing "medical turn back ball", unless I am absolutely sure that I think I can play without getting hurt.

I think its called Push ball - and 2011 lost multiple cadets. Despite a big focus on safety this one event is still "old school."

Make sure you stand FAR back if you're not playing, too. I ended up underneath the ball and I was just sitting there (I didn't get hurt, thankfully).

Another caution:

You may want to insure that your bladder and bowels are empty upon boarding the bus. You don't want to have an "accident"

Not really. Each squad has to have a certain number of people so usually the cadre just pick who is going to participate for each thing. Push ball was a lot of fun, so I would recommend just manning up and doing it.

We got to choose, then if people were undecided they placed them in events that needed people. Thats how my squad did it in beast.
