BCT - Letter Exchanging

My best friend is a basic in BCT and as requested, I've been sending her letters and eagerly awaiting any word from her. Unfortunately, I just found out about the white paper, white envelope rule from another forum and feel terrible because several of the letters I've sent were in green envelopes. I hope I haven't drawn any unwanted cadre attention to her. Does anyone know if the white evelope, white paper rule applies for the rest of the academic year, or is this just a BCT thing (I really hope so)? Is it possible the letters were confiscated or that she was punished due to the color of the envelope? Thanks for any information and/or ideas!

haha no that's ridiculous. the letters can be any color, size, anything. they wont get punished. cadre may just look at them and be like "oooh what's in there?" but they cant be punished for that...

I've heard of stupider things, HNeedle. Depends entirely on the cadre, but you should be fine.

One nifty trick is sending the Basics air heads or fruit roll ups in the envelopes. Just be careful if the Basic is in Demons B flight.

nobility, you are evil.
needle, yes you can get extra attention...like petko says, depends on your cadre. during jack's we got it pretty bad. but it was funny, so it was ok.
to the rest, though, don't worry about it at this point. i'd send white envelopes for the rest of basic. my friends did that, then at the end of basic, they sent me a package with all sorts of bright colors, confetti and the whole nine yards (it was my birthday too )

moral of the story though, don't worry about it cuz there's nothing you can do.

yes they can, but not all do. so again, just start sending white envelopes and don't worry about it. also, don't call USAFA freaking out that you sent colored envelopes. there's nothing they can do about it either.

and contrary to nobility, send them fruitroll ups/gum especially if they're in Demons Bravo just make sure mail arrives on a day i'm working so i can partake

My son Roleo, who will be in Missmuff's squadron, is out in the woods now, too! Looks like it's been raining a lot! I wonder if they got to see the fireworks...

i had a great group.
i think my favorite story is, first night. our cadre were teaching us to build shelters. one said, "go grab those lines and stakes over there" and a goofy kid goes, "steeeeeeak!!!!!!!"

survival and evasion was actually pretty fun. in a really horrible and torturous kind of way, lol. especially since i have no desire to be a pilot.
survival was like boyscout camp, and evasion was like a game of hide and seek on steroids without food

it didn't matter what we were talking about ever-the conversation always evolved to food. one kid made a list 7 pages long of what he wanted when he got back. it absolutely cracked me up. the funniest part was we went to red robin the night we got back, and our stomachs had shrunk. one kid puked, and i ate half a burger and was uncomfortable. i got back friday, and i still can't eat very much at a time.

it was probably the most difficult thing i've ever done, but on the other side, i'm very happy i did it. and there are some pretty darned funny things that happened.

another story for those who've met me...during evasion, i decided to embrace the camo and i looked pretty darned good if i do say so myself . my group got caught, and a guy from my old squad-we were in the same element and pretty good friends-came over and saw me. i asked him if he liked my paint job, and he said, "yeah, but it the camo doesn't do any good if you're smiling...your teeth are like a beacon in the woods!"

we are at a severe disadvantage with abu's though...lol. it is impossible to miss us against the trees! ridiculous.

potter went through it last year...
