Chances at Allegheny

Hi,
I am interested in Allegheny but my SAT scores are a bit poor....1640(510M/540CR/590M) However I am taking every AP and Honors class my school offers in my junior year (Doing well in those classes) and I am in the top 10% of my class. I have many EC's....I expect to get my SAT scores up but do I have a realistic shot?? Thanks...

Hard to say, but admissions officers do prefer high GPA and rank/low SAT over low GPA and rank/high SAT.

Since you are a junior, you have plenty of time to work on your SATs. Good luck!

Yes, I think you have a decent shot.

My SAT scores were a bit lower than yours and I found out I was accepted today.

Congratulations, courtney! My daughter likes Allegheny quite a bit, and is hoping to hear from them in January.

Accepted! (with trustee scholarship)

I applied regular decision and I was notified 12/27. I guess the school is sending out decisions way before the regular decision notification date of 4/1. Anyway, too bad I was accepted ED elsewhere.
