Over the past 10 years, Allegheny students' acceptance rate to medical schools (allopathic and osteopathic) has averaged 77%. Our annual rates have ranged to 100% and have never been under 50%. In contrast, the national average rate is about 35% and has been as low as 26% over the same period.
In the past 10 years, 36 Alleghenians have been admitted to dental school, representing a 90% acceptance rate.
Other acceptances since 1988 (seniors and alumni): 15 of 19 applicants to veterinary schools; 9 of 11 applicants to optometry schools; 5 of 5 applicants to podiatry schools.
