moinsyed, you might try looking at the Allegheny community on livejournal.com for answers. My daughter has decided (sadly) not to attend Allegheny, although she really liked the academics, opportunities for study abroad, and traditional college life.

Allegheny was one of her "final four" - there are a lot of things she really likes about it, but her visit to Carleton sealed the deal. It suits her personality the best - academically strenuous, non-competitive, quirky. Definitely quirky without being too "out there".

I'm keeping Allegheny in mind for my son, although he's only a freshman (he's looking for a LAC with good computer science). I'd really like one of my kids to go there.

Good luck to you!
