I just got my acceptance letter today! I was completely surprised. It says that I am going to receive a Trustee Scholarship. "The value of the scholarship and details of other aid eligibility will come after the committee meets again. You should hear from us within a few weeks."

Yeah, Allegheny is one of my safety schools. I want to major in either Political Science or International Relations, so ideally, I want to go to school in DC. Unfortunately, cost is a major factor.
The letter I got was really nice. It seemed personalized and mentioned my involvement in tennis - Allegheny seems like a really classy college and well run.

jj are you really from texas...what attracted you to allegheny?
I liked the size and the idea of going to a liberal arts college. And the scholarhip isn't too bad. I hate the south. My mom raised me as a northerner. It's time I took my rightful place in the world.
I do not know yet...I feel like I really should make the trip as a way of saying 'thanks' as Allegheny has been very hospitable to me, but on the other hand, it is a very long trip to visit a college that I probably (and hopefully, although nothing against Allegheny) will not attend.
