Accepted!

I recently received my acceptance letter from Allegheny, and yesterday I got a letter saying that they were giving me a $15,000/year Trustee Scholarship.

Now that there's such a nice sum of money involved, I'm definitely going to look at Allegheny more seriously. I'd love for anyone to tell me about life there--I know Meadville isn't exactly a metropolis. What do students do for fun, and what types of people choose Allegheny?

Congratulations, leah. My D also has been accepted there. She got the $12,500/year Trustee Scholarship. It still leaves a pretty big chunk for us, so we're hoping for some competitive offers from a couple of her other schools.

Have you visited? Does their website have those "ask a student" places? (We can't access the website -- see my other thread.) Also, if the website posts the school newspaper, read that. Maybe that will give you a better idea of what the students are like.

There's also a livejournal community - alleghenypeople - where you can ask current students about campus life. And there is also a myspace site for Allegheny.
