American University in DC, MT program

I'm wondering why American is not listed in the MT universities here. They have a wonderful, smaller program which appears to be up and coming because of the faculty relationship with the Kennedy Center. Anyone know why this is overlooked?

There was a limit to how many schools could be listed at the top of this page. If you use the search the forum tool you will find several posts regarding American University. There is not a tremendous amount of info on the program here, so if you have some specific info to add, please do so.
If you follow the FAQ link near the top of this page you will find "The Big List" which includes every school in the country which offers an MT major. There is more information available for the schools at the top of this list, as they are more well known for their programs. Many of the schools with lesser known programs can benefit from people with first hand information adding to the info here. Hopefully someone here will read your post and give more concrete info on the program for you. And in the meantime, you may want to use the search tools and locate old posts.

There is some info. on American scattered around this forum. It is a program worth looking into for those opting for a BA in MT by audition, or as an alternative to balance out one's college list that has BFA programs on it. In fact, I have recommended this program to two clients this year who are going to be auditioning for American now. A mom on here last year whose D did the BFA audition circuit ended up at American and is very happy. The mom's posting name was NewMTMom, if you want to email her. The 30 schools selected to be featured on the MT forum with their own forums, had to be narrowed and I believe CC went with mostly BFA programs. As the above poster mentions, American is on the "Big List" and is also on threads on the MT Forum.

Finding the "Big List"

I am a new poster and am trying to find the list referred to that shows all programs with MT degrees. I have searched in the FAQ estion and can't come up with it - although I am admittedly perhaps technologically impaired! Can you provide me with more specific directions to find this list? THanks in advance for your help!

Need Updated Info on American MT

I'm a brand new poster but have "stalked" the MT discussions all year and thank all for your insights. D just received acceptance to American in MT. Can students or parents provide any updated info on program strengths, being in DC, etc.?

Erics Mom - saw your son at Elon audtions lst weekend. Seems you have a great son. Very nice. He gave you "props" and suggested we look you up.
The school was great - unfortunately my daughter did not get accepted to the MT program. She is still waiting to hear from two other schools. I had no idea this was all so competitive and nerve-wracking!

Thanks, I hope you'll write me an e-mail. I'll send you one.

I prefer e-mail to PM's.
