| Washington Mentorship Program Can you guys tell me anything about the Washington Mentorship Program? I was admitted to the Spring 2009 session instead of the Fall 2008 term (Hey, its better then a rejection!!) and offered a spot in this program.
Any experiences? feedback? personal stories?
I'm ecstatic.. AU was my top choice by far. Thanks!! |

| My son also received the spring admission offer with the
Washington Mentorship Program option. It sounds intriguing, but I wonder if the spring admittees are treated like second class citizens by the school administration and the other students. If one enrolls in the Mentorship program and lives on the Tenley campus, is there a guarantee that there will be a room available on the main campus when the spring semester starts? Would really like to get feedback from Mentorship program participants! |

| When did everyone hear that they were accepted to this program? It seems as though all the fall acceptences were sent out and then this and then maybe rejections but who knows this is the college process! |

| I know a few of my friends did the Mentorship program, and they all really enjoyed themselves. You are given REALLY nice housing (much nicer than on the main campus) and most people I know got really close with their groups and then easily transitioned onto the main campus. You also get ahead by interning your freshman year at internships designed by the program leaders, etc., something that very few other students can add to their resume so early.
Call and get some more information, I have heard nothing but good things about it and it is very popular with other students from other schools who come to AU for the same program.
Or check out their website: http://admissions.american.edu/publi...020&docID=2905 |

| i am also a bit perplexed about wmp. i am very interested in american, but am thinking i would have a better first semester travelling or at a school abroad...? then again, i bet the trasfer into 2nd semester would be easier coming out of the program. arr, a lot to think about.
more knowledge on the program (besides what's on the website/the packet we received) would be much appreciated.... anyone..... |

| i have heard very good things about wmp from past students.
They all said how much they love it, and how they feel ahead of the game when they get to american in the spring because of the internships they participate in in the fall.
i think im going to do it. why not, i love dc, i love american, and why be safe, life is full of taking risks. |

| I recently learned that a friend of mine has a son who is now a senior at AU. He was in the Washington Mentorship Program, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We're convinced - the deposit has been paid and now let the games begin! |
