| Still haven't heard!
Has anyone else still not heard from AU? D has heard nothing. The strange thing is, 10 kids from her class applied, 9 were accepted, one waitlisted. She has better stats than all but two of those who were accepted, so she should hear positively, when she hears (though in today's environment, who knows?) The thing is, I can't help but feel AU is shooting itself in the foot with its staggered decision notifications. When the first two kids from her school heard back positively, D was sure she was rejected. Then we heard about AU's random notification system and she felt better. But now that 10 days have passed with no info from AU (but intervening good news from 3 other schools) D is beginning to feel much less enthusiastic about AU alltogether. Why wouldn't AU just let everyone know at once? |

| No news again. I am sick and tired of running over the postman to get the mail and checking my email every five seconds. They really need to rethink their notification system. | |

| I haven't heard either. I exceed AU's requirements too. Three girls from my school applied, two got their paper letters, and I haven't heard anything!

| I live in Northern VA, and i haven't heard anything yet. Supposedly its random. My best friend heard back though.. she got wait listed...(which strongly baffles me, because she has outstanding stats.) Just remember that the official notify date is April 1st. Anyday now... | |

| I think it is really awful the way this is done at schools. My D was lucky enough to get an early notification at AU, but is seeing the pain at another school that is dribbling out their invites. I can't imagine why they can't just put this stuff on a status page online and let everyone hear at the same time.

Maybe they don't KNOW all at the same time. Their financial aid budget, for example, is dynamic, and they have to continually make projections as to yield in order to know what they have spent. Recommendations supposedly come in from each of the regional reps, but at the same time, they need to know that they have the right proportion of students for each of the schools. There are also the usual "slots" (athletes), etc. that must be filled, and they have to keep running tallies on that as well.
It will all be over by the 28th supposedly, since that is when their first "accepted students fair" is being held - though perhaps it only has be to over for students living in the areas (New York and DC). At any rate, it will all shake itself out soon enough. | |

| I still have not heard anything :/. AU was my top choice and I made that very clear in my interview! I know several people at school who have heard. I know how hard it is to hear when people you know are accepted that are less qualified or are less interested than you. I am pretty much assuming rejection at this point. "But now that 10 days have passed with no info from AU (but intervening good news from 3 other schools) D is beginning to feel much less enthusiastic about AU alltogether." I am starting to feel the same way. Hopefully I will hear something soon whether it be Accepted,WMP, waitlisted or rejected  . | |

| I would call admissions and confirm whether or not all decisions have been sent out. I think it's weird you haven't heard anything - my son heard almost 2 weeks ago. Maybe a batch of letters got lost in the mail or something. | |

| Hang in there Balleta - it is only a matter of a few days at most. Have you heard positively from other schools? D is now focusing on her acceptances and still hoping for her reach. When she finally hears from AU, the news, good or bad, is unlikely to affect her ultimate decision. | |

| Just heard from D at home -she was accepted to AU SIS! I didn't even know she had applied there. I am still at work, so I don't know details, but it is a big relief! | |

| We live in NYC. I think it has nothing to do with where you live though - maybe its' based on which school they put you in. Of the kids in D's HS, she was the only one to be accepted to SIS. | |

| Waiting for American University is making me less enthusiastic as well. It was my number one school and now I feel that even if I am rejected, I wont be sad or anything. I am just really annoyed. | |
