American unweighs GPAs. Daughter had UW gpa about 3.68 and 31 ACT and missed honors. You can ask them to take another look at your stats coming in, in case you were overlooked. You can apply your freshman year if you don't get in honors on admission. Check the 2007 freshman profile: Average gpa 3.53, mid 50% SAT 1180-1350, mid 50% ACT 26-30.

You would most likely be accepted, but you would definitely not make it into Honors.

The honors program requires, on average, a 1450 SAT (old SAT) and a 3.8 UW GPA.

I wouldn't bank on honors, but you can always apply once at AU.

Requirements are more stringent now that American has its huge incoming class.

I know they do this for Scholarships, but I'm pretty sure they do it for Honors too:

They literally rank all the students and then just assign scholarships down the line until the money/space runs out.
