My son, who is home, got an email today stating that the RAs will be checking the dorm rooms in his building for illegal substances. S knew that that could happen, but didn't know when.
I had no idea that this even occured. According to some posters, there should be quite a haul!
One item that was at the top of the list where my daughter went was actually candles. Not an illegal substance but a banned item in a dorm as you can imagine. Also appliances that don't meet regulations and extension cords running across the room. Seemed more of a safety check.
Yeah, I'm an AU student and they just check if you have any illegal appliances in your room, space heaters, toaster ovens, irons, lights hanging from your celing. That sort of thing. They don't look in any of your stuff. Its really no big deal esp bc the student is in the room when the RA checks.
