Official 2016 Waitlist Discussion Thread

Eeesh. I emailed them too and they said they're still accepting people off the waitlist and they will continue until mid summer. I have a feeling that they're telling this to everybody though :/

I don't think they'll go around telling people publicly that they've closed the wait list off to internationals.

Why would you assume they would be lying to you? They are not going to string you along.

Exactly what I was thinking! I'd like to think that even if they already did close off the wait list to internationals, they'd tell us (or at least those who are in constant contact w/ the college) so that we could makes plans, etc.!

I did not say that they were lying, merely not divulging all the details.

I guess you could say that. I've been in contact constantly with them every week a,d apparently, so has my guidance counselor.

Oh wow. I've only emailed them twice since getting notified about the waitlist. Well I've kinda almost given up already. Quite painful, this waiting game. Good luck ya?

so yeah i talked to a female dean and she said basically that they exceeded the number of international student spots so that i should just try to forget about Amherst
I was actually really hurt by this
it was good that she told me but it kinda sucked at the same time
but then i called couple days later and then they said that they are still offering admission to internationals... i am hella confused
hopefully we get good news...the second wave of waitlist offers are "supposed" to go out anytime this week
