| Anyone still waiting? Is anyone still waiting for letters from Amherst? Because I'm really freaked out. This is like my personal antithesis to the "everyone seems so calm" thread. I am not calm. Amherst is like my top choice now. And I won't even be in town on Monday, so my dad will have to read my rejection letter over the phone. The horror, the horror. |

| Really it's ok, I was exactly the same as you (I started the everyone seems so calm thread) until I finally got into Tufts. I love Tufts so much that I'm not even worried amherst any more. Believe me, everything will work out and your blood pressure will return to normal soon. Plus, I give you props for even being able to DO your homework. I barely did anything those last couple of days before I got in somewhere. Good luck with everything!!! |

| I'm still waiting for my official letter, but I got an email that I was waitlisted. Then heard that the emails were sent out to non-int'ls like myself in error. Grrrrrrr. So I still don't think I got in because I would have gotten a priority letter by now, but I'd like to just have the rejection and move on ... |

| I'm still waiting. It's a bummer, but not worth halting life for. Do you really want to waste a couple days of your time on earth thinking about a college decision? Carpe diem, dude. |

| For those who are still waiting, it probably is bad news rather than good news. They sent out acceptance package by priority mail on Mar. 30, so it shouldn't take that long already. I am sorry to tell you this, but I have been in the position somewhere else and I know how it is like. |

| That's not always true (even though I'm expecting a rejection from Amherst anyways). Especially for those who live on the West Coast. Don't be so pessimistic. |

| If they send the acceptance package by priority mail on March 30, I wouldn't expect to see it until April 2 or 3 over here in SoCal. I received the Wellesley acceptance package three or four days after everyone else on CC. |

| Well, I'm not expecting any good news. I'm kind of dreading tomorrow, because i don't want to accept it. |

| do you really have to be that depressing? Kid's on the west coast won't have heard by now. We are too far away. I received my packages days later than other kids around the country. You really don't need to be so negative. |

#13 | | Guest | For those who haven't yet heard, it has nothing to do with the nature of your decision. There's definitely still hope! In December I mailed a dozen applications out Priority Mail and while several actually made it from Florida to points north and way-north in two days as expected, some took a little longer and a couple took 6-7 days. The delay is stressful but not a sign of bad (or good) news. | |

| It took 8 days for a package containing my D's Scripps acceptance and scholarship to arrive in Texas. Don't worry about it. Of course, D has received nothing either and it's driving us nuts . |

| Ok, i haven't had a chance to check my mail today, but I got an Amherst e-mail about a live chat for accepted students that included the line "congratulations on being admitted to Amherst's class of 2010," or something, so I guess anything is possible. Now I have to call my house and find out what the mail holds!
Good luck to anyone still waiting -- I hope to god Amherst is done with erroneous emails... |
