Amherst Acceptance Percentages?

Just wondering what the acceptance percentage was this year? Any links that have more information would be greatly appreciated.

I think it runs in the twenties... I'm not completely sure though.

I'm not sure either, but I seem to recall reading somewhere that Amherst's Class of 2009 acceptance rate was about 18-19 percent?

I think it was down slightly this year. Most colleges like the Ivy Leagues and the top LACs were flooded with an unusually high number of apps, and their acceptance percentages dropped.

The impression I'm getting is that the class of 2010 had a rather large applicant pool within all colleges in the nation. This therefore brought the acceptance rate down significantly. Amherst had more than 6100 applicants for a class of 428 people. Despite how many people they accept, only 7% of the applicants will be first years in the fall.

6135 applications this year.

If they accepted the same number (1176) as last year, that would put Amherst's acceptance rate at about 19%.
