| I believe Katie Fretwell cited hopefully 25 people coming off the waitlist. |

| another question: for those of you who did get waitlisted, didn't it say in the letter that there are like 900 people on the waitlist? so it's like 25/900 chance???? |

| it's different for everyone.
they aren't gonna take like 3 waitlist kids from one school.
so it depends if you are at the top of your local pile. |

| Hey guys. Good news for you waitlistees, kinda sad for me. I won't be attending Amherst this fall. Financial aid just didn't come through for me... not even close. And I've been told that my appeal will most likely not result in any change. |

| Wow, really?
Isn't Amherst one of the most generous liberal arts colleges in terms of Financial Aid? |

| Hey, guys and gals, are you writing your letters to Ms. Fretwell, or your regional representative?
I wrote mine to my rep, but I feel a tinge of doubt, since K.F. DID sign my waitlist letter: which impressed me. |

| Oh come on aerableparable, it isn't Amherst's duty to foot the bill for a student with a 40k EFC just because his/her parents' don't think the school is worth paying for.
I sympathize, it must be rough, but don't go around spreading false information about Amherst's financial aid, among the very most generous in the country. |
