Is it true?

That Amherst is like high school, but with smarter students?
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I've heard that there is a surprising amount of emphasis placed on the "social rat race", and that the school is clique-ish.

I have not experienced that at all.

The only times I have ever heard Amherst compared to high school have been by non-students, concerning the size. Amherst is not for everyone, but I think the social environment has been terrific.

If there's a social rat race here, I haven't heard of it and wouldn't give a d*mn about it if I had.

Yes, it is. Fortunately I was paralyzed by not caring enough, so I didn't participate.

So it's like juicycampus but worse because there's like 1600 kids in total right?

I guess it confirms the 'Normal Person + Anonymity + Audience = *******' theory.

The confessional is very bad. Fortunately, it's also very ignorable.
