the Reading and Study Skills program

Have any current students at Amherst taken the Reading and Sutdy Skills program before? It is not an Amherst program. I found it on the orientation page. I am an international student. I was wondering if this program actually helps to improve reading and writing skills. These two parts are my weakness. Does it require a lot of work since it is a five-day a week commitment? Does it worth the money?
Thanks in advance.
