Study abroad/ language programs in Amherst?

I just realized that the most important thing i'm looking for in my college selection is study abroad/language program!!

I am going to start learning Mandarin as soon as i'm done with this college application crap and hope to become something close to being Mandarin-fluent by the time I graduate from college. And also I really wish to study in China through something like exchange student program.

How are Amherst Mandarin classes?
Does it have any study abroad program?

Thanks A LOT!

D did Study Abroad and worked closely with the Study Abroad Dean. There is a long list of approved courses all over the world that you can apply for and your FA follows you. D enrolled in the Middlebury Spanish Program and then in the German Dept. sponsored program in Goettingen U.
