Does Amherst accept AP scores?

I'm applying for early decision and I was wondering if Amherst considers AP scores (because I heard some schools dont). If they don't consider them, then sending the scores would be a total waste of money! I think I read somewhere that they do, but I just wanted to make sure

For placement, not for credit toward graduation.

(Bio, Chem, Econ, languages, Math, Psych--though, not Physics, because there are honors introductory courses that prospective majors should take)

The typical student must take at least 32 courses to graduate, and he or she must be enrolled at the college as a student for 8 semesters/4 years.

I think the OP is wondering if they consider AP scores when making admissions decisions. Not sure though. In any case, june bug, I think you can just self-report them if you want on your application. It's not necessary to send them official scores just as part of an admissions app.

That's what I think anyway, but I'm no expert.

Ah, I was responding to the topic title.

Yes, self-report the scores on your application.

You can send them electronically, or even present a physical copy of the score report, after you've been admitted.
