Also, I understand the AP designation appears only taking the AP exam in May. For classes taken during your senior year, does that mean your transcript has no indication that you are an taking AP level course?

Has anyone taken any non-AP courses on FLVS?

FLVS courses do show up on transcripts. For AP courses, however, credit will not be awarded until you verify that you have taken the corresponding AP.

I heard that after you take an AP class on FLVS, you have to contact them to let them know that you took the AP Exam in order to recieve your credit. How does that work? Do you contact the FLVS department, or your specific teacher, and if you do have to contact your teacher, how does that work out if you've already completed the course so you've lost contact with them?

You get an "AP Verification Form" which you fill out with your basic information. You also have to get it signed by your AP test proctor. Also stick an AP number label on the sheet. Then, scan, fax, or snail mail the sheet to your teacher. Done.

You don't get locked out the course until well after the AP.

Then your experiences differ from mine. But you should still be able to get your form to your teacher; just call him or her, or use e-mail, or call FLVS.

I'm new to flvd. I have not signed up for any classes yet but I want to sign up for AP macroeconomics for summer in order to raise my gpa. Is it too late to sign up and how hard is that class? How much time do I have to put in during summer and can I even take an AP during summer?

I see several questions. I'll answer them in order:

1) No it is not too late to sign up. To sign up, just enroll on the FLVS website and then get guidance counselor approval.

2) The class is easy. Very much so, according to a friend.

3) I'm not sure about much time you have to put in, but it shouldn't be that long.

4) You can take an AP course in the summer but you can't take the AP test until May.
