Apus

I got a 4 on APUS. Mainly because I screwed up Essay 5.

But, you know. Live and learn. Next year, I'm going to be preparing for May at the beginning of the year.

What does it mean if one of my scores is delayed? I feel like I should be concerned...

Also, how did you guys study for these tests? Did you have good teachers or was there a lot of outside self study? Which company's review books were most helpful?

AP English Language: 5

Took this with terrible allergies; expected a 3. Extremely relieved however.

AP US Government: 5

Easiest class ever. It being one of my favorites probably helped though.

AP Chemistry: Pending

Expected a 5 just because I always got in 80-90% range on practice multiple choice...essays were ok but would've been a lot worse if I had a different teacher. That history teacher was a beast. Being an ap reader probably helped tho...haha

Ap English Lang:

Completely unexpected!!!!!!!! Thought I did horrible on multiple choice, but amazing on my essays about JFK and doubt/certainty, but the synthesis wasn't as good (or so I thought). I guess the essays really saved me.

Apes:

Being my first AP test (they didnt offer ap courses for freshman in my school other than human geo which I didn't take until this year), I had no idea what to expect in terms of anxiety before the test...so I was super pessimistic when I thought about what I had gotten after taking the test. This years calculation frq was really easy but I panicked because I'm not good at math AT ALL and had a negative nervous mind set when doing the problem and totally bombed it. Thank god one mistake in the beginning of the problem doesn't carry over in point deductions to the other parts. Multiple choice I thought was ok, and the experiment frq was a joke. I had an awesome teacher this year for like 3 different classes, including apes, so I got to learn reallly well due to her teaching style that I was comfortable with.

Ap human geo:

That test was definitely the easiest test ever. I always feel bad after taking a test, but this one, even i felt good coming out of the testing site above all people. I was expecting a 5, but deep down was still a bit nervous. Didn't do anything all year but write open book frqs on computers and take ridiculously hard and unrelated to the ap exam multiple choice tests from rubensteins test generator thing. The Princeton review saved my life for that test. Read it the night before with a friend and 90% of it was on the test. Yes!

Ap comp gov:

Took it as an online class which met weekly face to face with three different teachers. One of which was my Apush teacher....the whole online thing is definitely not for me. I ways procrastinated on the assignments and ended up taking the tests in a supervised area like a month after they were due. Took the last test AFTER the ap test..haha. Was on my own pretty much all the way, but I love global Politics so that's probably the only reason I got a 5. Read the whole book and the Ethel wood guide hand in hand in like a week before the test. Whoever said cramming doesn't help was most deff wrong. Haha! Super stoked.

@lisaturnercx...did you take an alternate exam? They delay alternate exam scores by like two weeks I think. So that may be the reason. Don't worry tho. The college board has these things figured out...hopefully. Haha.

About the studying....yea. I learned that the hard way this year. Even though I got 5s on all five of my exams, I had to work a lot harder in the days just before the tests than I would ever have to had I studied in advance...like September when school started...haha. Lesson definitely learned.

The Princeton reviews are amazing. Personally, I don't really use them for essay tips, but they are a lifeline when it comes to factual content and analysis for history or science classes. Teachers do a good job of essay teaching but it's the facts and meaty stuff we usually forget over the course of the year or semester. And it depends all on how you learn. Some teachers simply arent that good at teaching ap courses, and some are really good but have a different teaching style. It all depends on what kind of a learned you are. I learn the boring way...listen to lectures/take notes/read the book or Princeton or both. The good teachers try to incorporate a variety of styles in their teaching, like old fashion notes and boring powerpoints to "exciting" podcasts and flip classroom learning in which you do the learning online or out of class and do supplement activities in class to clarify concepts. It all depends. Good luck!

Congrats to everyone! I love how here, it's like "Damn, a 4." But whatever.
APUSH - killed the DBQ beyond belief, so it's no wonder I got a 5. Seriously. Crammed this one so badly...
Language - Gotta hand it to my teacher: she's amazing. Glad I got a 5, because I owe it all to her to perform to the fullest of my abilities.
Calculus - Studied BC by myself, took the AB class. Very proud that I did, and I know my teacher is too.
Biology - biggest *** moment of my LIFE. How... I expected a 3, a 4 at best. I was half asleep the entire time! How...

Lit-5
Physics C: Mec-5
Psych-5
Micro-5
Macro-5
Stats-5
Calc BC-5 (AB subscore-5)

I know I shouldn't be this excited about getting a 5 in psych since it's one of the easiest, if not the easiest AP tests, but it was the only test I've ever self-studied for so I'm incredibly proud Really satisfied with my AP run (12 5's in total) and I'm going to U of I with 57 credits already so all of you in high school, AP's still have a ton of use depending on which college you're going to!

Junior Year:

APUSH: 5
AP Lang: 5
AP Human Geography: 5
AP Chem: 4
AP Calc AB: 4 (self-studied)

Sophomore Year:

AP US Gov: 5
AP Bio: 5
AP Psych: 5

Considering my workload during AP exams, I'll take it. I feel kinda disappointed about AP Chem because I did study for it (unlike some of my other exams...APLAC, lol), but it's acceptable. Some of the FRQs were difficult, and I just didn't feel as confident as I did when I took the practice exam :P

Calc is not too surprising. I tried to cram for it in the last week or so, and, while I did feel confident that I scored well, I somewhat expected a disappointing score. Regardless, I still got National AP Scholar as a Junior
