| Has anyone taken AP classes on FLVS? I know there are CC people out there who take FLVS (Florida Virtual School) classes. I've taken 3, but none of them were AP.
Is there a big difference in workload between the honors classes and AP classes on FLVS?
Next year, I might take AP Art History, AP English Lang, and AP Macro/Microeconomics online. |

| ^ Right now, I'm signed up for AP Art History also and the old AP Art History teacher left and a new one is going "under training" right now. And I wanted to start it before school started :'( |

| My daughter took APBio and APUSH from Apex, another cyberschool and took Pre-calc from FLVS. I was impressed with the rigor of the AP courses- unlke regular public school, no time off (worked on breaks), many tests, essays for APUSH. Don't have the scores yet, of course, so can't comment on that. |

| I'm currently taking AP art history. It's increadibly tough and i'm sure i'm going to be prepared for the exam.
Plus, the teacher is really nice.
Just.. don't get behind. Online AP teachers do not tolerate that at all. |

| I've taken AP Biology and AP Microeconomics. They assign a lot of work, but the thing is, you don't have to work on it every day. It's extremely easy to slip behind, not touch the course for two weeks, and then make up those two weeks' work in two days.
Pace is a joke. I've been more than a month behind in a FLVS class and there is absolutely no punishment as long as you can come up with a feeble excuse; teachers ignore it, or they pretend you started a course a month after you actually started so it doesn't look like you're behind at all.. |

| I've taken AP Calculus AB with FLVS. I personally find taking any class online is far more reliable than taking it in a physical school because EVERYTHING in the curriculum is covered. In the case of AP classes, the course designers (most often teachers for AP classes) specifically include what is on the AP curriculum and leave out unnecessary material. I am waiting to find out how well I did on my exam. I know I did great on MC, but as you've probably heard, FRQ was a toughie. Anyway it turns out, I am definitely stronger prepared in Calc than I would be if I took it at my school.
This year in specific, the teacher, Mrs. Payne, did 20+ webinars (online seminars) that really mimicked a classroom. She can write on a white board; students can participate in the white board as well. She also did application shares to calculator emulators to prepare us on calculator usage. |

| ^^ I don't think that's possible. Flvs would probably count that as a waste of time because there are people who need/want the credit and if your just taking the class for no reason, they'd think you're a waste of their time. |

| FLVS offers courses only for accreditation. After three weeks in the class, your grade in the class will be recorded on your transcript. This is a policy common to many online classes that offer school credit. |
