AP chem scoring?

Okay so i know the score is out of 75 on the MC... i took a practice test and got a 30.5/75.. which is a 3.. but how does the Free response work? How many points can u get? And suppose u can get 10 total points.. and u get 5... do u just add those 5 points to ure MC raw score? Like would the 30.5 become a 35.5? How does it work?

The exam was updated last year so I believe the scoring is a little different. You need the 2007 scoring sheet to see the scale.
