Accepting a 1 or Cancel Score?

As of now I am fairly certain I will fail AP Chem and maybe USHistory. Our class just doesn't emphasize on these subjects and I have a hard time understanding the concepts.

Now when filling out College Applications will it be better to have Cancelled on these tests better than a "1" mark? I am also taking AP Calc and fairly certain I can get a 4 or 5. Can I just fill my score for AP Calc and leave Chem/USH blank on the application? I could care less for the actual college credit. I just don't want it to stick out on college application.

If you cancel your score, you can certainly leave that AP off your application.

I'm pretty sure that you self-report AP scores on your application.

colleges dont really care what you get, unless you get a high score. Even then, I took 10 aps and I didnt even include the scores/send it to my college until i got here to get credits.

A 1 is better than a "cancel."

1 = you're willing to give it the best shot

cancel = you're obsessed with hiding anything less than "perfect."

Colleges all prefer "best shot" to "perfect"

^A 1 is completely removed from perfection. Cancelling a 3 or 4 would suggest an obsession with perfection. I highly doubt colleges would look in any way favorably on a 1 score.

depends on what school you go to...& you shouldn't cancel a score because you might end up with a good score...i know someone that got two 2's on their AP exams - more specificially APUSH & AP Physics, & they ended up getting accepted to ucla

UCLA does not care about AP scores.

I got a 4 on APUSH and a 3 in AP Bio, but they do not base admission on AP scores. However, being an AP scholar might help.

Do you honestly think you are going to get a 1? I mean, really. You are on CC. I am sure you can at least scrap up a 2 or even a 3 if you apply some logic to both the tests, especially U.S. History. Although Chemistry is pretty hard. My honors Chemistry class is pretty tough (we don't offer any AP science).

Do you think you can't even get a 25% on these exams and get a 2?

Is that your best shot? It's far from perfect.

I assume you count several placement counselors and admissions directors amongst your acquaintances, and at lest one psychologist who helped you to make this diagnosis of my statement.
