English is probably the best subject to have not done anything in all year, as it's a skill. Just get a review book (most will be fine, I particularly like Cliffs) and read it and take the practice tests. Read the tips on how to write your essay. I don't really know what else there is, but yeah. You'll be fine.

Yeah can anyone else send me some MC tests w/ answers? I'm basically in the same boat as D-Yu, my teacher has been terrible and basically not taught us anything.

I can't help you much there -- I'm pretty much in the same boat, with slightly different circumstances.
We've been preparing for the literature exam, but our guidance counselor ordered the language test instead of the literature test. So, we've been preparing the entire time for the wrong test.

ok, i took the english lang test last year
just read. and read alot!
You also need to purchase a book if she really didn't teach you anything about analyzing literature and pulling out any rhetorical devices. YOU NEED TO KNOW HOW TO DO THIS FOR THE AP EXAM!!
Practice looking at the rubrics of the essays from previous years and you can even time yourself and take them. One site to look up previous exams and things would be the collegeboard website at :: College Planning Made Easy | Inside Source for College Admissions Requirements.
I was lucky in the fact that my teacher prepared us substancially for the exam by making us write essays at least once every week outside of class and she even made us write a timed essay in class every other week. We pounded multiple choice questions and read too many books....
I think you just need to take a deep breath and try your best. Good Luck!

google gave me the link to some of the past prompts that ap has used:

AP: English Language

it's only prompts from 2002-2007, but it's better than nothing. my teacher has used some of them, too.

and don't freak out. look for a list of rhetorical devices on google or something, and try remembering what they are. remember things like periodic sentences, parallelism, interrupted sentences...whatever.

if your teacher has been total crap &didn't tell you alreadyy, know that there are 3 types of essays ap can give you: a synthesis question [like a dbq!], a rhetorical analysis question [so youu should know them!], or an argumentative [use your own experiences, etc. to argue something].

They're like SAT CR on steroids. Similar, but you have to break down the style much more and it's much more in depth. Consult some reviews for more details.

haven't taken the sat's yet so i don't know [[i will this saturday, eck ><"]] but my teacher has gone over some of the past mc questions with us.

sadly, most [[if not all]] of the questions actually require reading the entire passage. they ask what the author means with certain phrases in certain lines, etc. but you gotta read everything for context! there's also some really good distractor answers, so you have to watch out for those! &from the mc practice we've done, they love having the last question ask for the author's tone, too, haha.

man, i've been complaining all year about all the stress my apelg teacher gave me &all the sleepless nights, but now i know why i went through all that crap. -____-
