APUSH exam study

ok...APUSH exam is 2 weeks away.

im using AMSCO and making outlines of essays DBQs etc.

heres my outline for this DBQ:

To what extent were the reform efforts of the Progressive Era aimed at maintaining the existing society and to what extent did they bring about radical changes?

thesis: The reform efforts aimed at maintaing the existing society and bringing radical changes to a small extent.

supports details:
Non-radical and new society -

outside info: like Populist and denied socialism.
-settlement houses
- peaceful protests
-ICC
-sherman anti trust act
- used government for changes
- New deal
-scientific management
- muckrakers
-decline of political machines
- women peaceful reforms
- booker washington: blacks to get peacefully economically equal with whitses

documents- use gov for reform
-break tariff, big business, industrial system
- pro-farmers movement
- gov control of corp.
- protests: no black in office
-end of the 2 social classes

Radical and existing society: used as opposite arhument
- DuBois theory
- extremist -document
- not a lot of Black movments
-Eugene Debs violent strikes and put in jail.

comment on mine and create ur own. Hopefully this will help us, come AP exam time.

I am! I havent started making pre-outlines for the exam but I plan to. Your general outline looks very organized. The only thing I saw was that you included the New Deal in your outline, which was after Progressivism..

new deal was TR's policy. TR prez from 1900-1908. Progessivism from 1900-1914.

I just like to look at general blocks to concentrate on and get all the facts.

It's definitely a unique way of studying but it will surely help. Good luck.
