Well, I feel alright.. i've taken two practice tests so far.. on the first one i missed 27 MC (out of 70) and did pretty well on FR, and i managed to get (barely) a 5 (based on that test).

I took another test the other day and bombed the MC... i missed 36 MC (out of 70)... ouch... pretty bad.. and i did pretty well on FR, and i managed to get a 4 on that test.

so, i need to work on my MC.. if i can get my missed MC under -25 (if i get at least 45 right), then i should be set for a 5

you have any advice on how I should approach MC questions?

Ditto jasonlee576. In my practice tests I do pretty well on the FR section, but not so well on the MCQs. The first test I took I had trouble with the actual problems; on the second test I got the problems but ran out of time. Based on what the book said I managed to just get a 4.

Like Peytoncline said, any advice on how to approach the MCQs would be very helpful.

Here's a practice problem for you guys:

You lower a 2 kg stone block to the ground from a ledge 1 m high. You are tired and let the block fall at an acceleration of 5 m/s^2. How much work did you do?

a) 0 J
b) 5 J
c) -5 J
d) -10 J
e) -20 J

Accelleration due to gravity = 10 m/s^2
if rock falls at 5 m/s^2, then you were providing an acceleration of -5 m/s^2

F = ma = -10 N. For a distance of one meter, this equals -10 J of work.

Do I get a cookie?
