32.9% of test takers score a 1/5 on the AP Human Geography exam. A mere 11.2% score 5/5. Despite this, I wouldn't say the exam is difficult. The majority of students taking this exam are freshmen in high school who haven't developed the writing skills necessary to take an AP examination. Plus, AP Human Geography relies heavily on knowledge from other fields that a typical freshman may not be familiar with (eg: sociology, anthropology, et cetera).
