| if you mess up on sig figs, it's only 1 points for the entire problem
and, on the directions, it says that if you have + or - one sig fig from what's accepted (let's say the answer has 1.55, and you put either 1.6 or 1.547).. they don't count off for that (according to my teacher).. you have to pretty much blatently screw up sig figs to get counted off (like put 4 sig figswhen there should only be 2)... for most problems, the set is 3 sig figs, from what i've seen.. so when in doubt, go with 3 |
