Question about score withholding, help please :)

Hi; so I'm currently a junior who's very confused about score withholding. I looked through previous threads but they were a bit unclear...so just asking for some clarification.

I took 6 AP tests, including Chemistry, which I self-studied for. I'm unsure of how well I did on Chemistry, so I'm concerned about the impact a score of...say...2 might have when I apply to college.

So I was wondering how and when we have to send our AP scores to colleges. Do we self-report them when we apply? Or do we have collegeboard send a score report when we apply/after acceptance? Can I leave out my chem score?

Also, for withholding scores, the website says that the deadline for withholding scores from colleges we wrote down on the answer sheet is 6/15. I did not write down a college, so can I ask collegeboard to withhold the chemistry AP from colleges I will be applying to in the fall/winter after 6/15?

Thank you

You self-report your scores on the application. You only send official scores to the college that you're going to go to, and even then only if the college will give credit or placement for certain scores (some don't). I would suggest, though, that you self-report all your scores - it's cleaner that way. They'll see that AP Chem isn't on your transcript, and will consider a lower score in that context.

You "withhold" the score when you order the score report. But by then you've been accepted, and they don't revoke admissions for a lousy AP score, so generally it's not worth paying to withhold the score.
