attractive

How attractive does a 5 on an AP exam look?
I know that the AP scores are located in the award section of your resume.
But would a 5 look extremely appealing? Cause the AP exams are more difficult than the SAT II subject tests.

^Depends, some 5's are better than others: A 5 on Computer Scince will look better than a 5 on Psychology. A 5 on Chemistry will probably look better than a 5 on Computer Science.

Overall, since the colleges don't really, tangible have your scores on them (you self report them) I guess they count, but not too much.

For example if you're applying to MIT a 5 may be almost expected. Other school, depending on your major, a 4 or 5 may not help you as much, as a 1 or 2 will hurt you.

Having said all that a 5 is just plain EPIC. I had a handful of 5 under my belt and I got accepted to Johns Hopkins.

I think the bottom line is that the AP's and SAT II's is what separates applicants, sometimes. If you can get a 5 def. go for it.

Hope this helps

So if I get a 5, definitely put it on my resume. Also is it hard to earn a 5?
If I pay attention in class everyday, and set 1-2 hours on that subject, is a 5 really hard?
I am taking these courses my Junior year
AP CALC
AP Eng
AP Biology
AP American History

^Yes, a 4 or 5 def. put it on your application. Resume? Maybe? If you get enough 5's, you'll get the AP Scholar Award, which you can ut on your resume

AP Calculus BC -- I had to self-study a decent amount and I got a 5.
AP English -- I just took the Lit test in May, didn't really study, or do anything in class, I barely even went to class, AP teacher loves me, gave me A's all year long, probably got a 4 or 5, the test was like critical reading from the SAT's
AP Bio -- never took, hear from this girl I know its pretty easy, so...
AP US History -- I read parts of the textbook, payed attetion in class, didn't really study at home. Got a 5

Actually there are 4 or 5 different awards, each varying in difficulty to attain.

AP: Scholar Awards

The best you could do is get the second level of Award: AP Scholar with Honor. Which is not bad, its actually pretty good. All you would need is A score of "3" on 3 tests and a score of a "4" on 1 test. A "5" on all 4 tests would be impressive but still net you the same award. Of course make no mistake a 5 on ALL 4 tests is EPIC...

If you must know I got the National AP Scholar Award: A score of 4 or 5 on EIGHT AP Test taken. My average was: 4.75
