Textbook dilemma

Hi,
Sorry I'm posting another thread! I've tried so many textbooks but they're all really confusing!
I'm trying to self-study over the summer, & I still can't find a good textbook for any of these:
Chemistry (I tried Zumdahl...too confusing)
Economics
Human Geography
World History

Ok...I know...you all must think I'm stupid.

Thanks in advance.

i dont think you should self study chemistry.....

you're going to miss lab experience. its not really crucial for the exam but a lot of schools want to see your labs. you obviously are not going to be running labs in your kitchen so i think its a waste of time.

but if you really do have a genuine interest in it then go for it. try chemistry the central science, ive heard its good... not sure of the author, just type it into amazon something will come up.

For Chemistry, try The Central Science by Brown, Lemay, Bursten. I have both and it explains far better than Zumdahl.

I'd agree with the post above. Brown Lemay is fantastic. So is Silberberg, which you can find as a pd*cough cough* on torr*cough* for fre...*cough* :P
