| what does AMSCO in AMSCO AP stand for?
When i see people who say you should get the AMSCO AP book, what does AMSCO stand for? im trying to figure it out, and im having a hard time finding it..

I have the book lol. and I used it and took the test just recently and it was an amazing overview of the subject. Highly recommended.

I most definitely did feel prepared. I took both!
FWIW, I also read Barrons but didn't like it very much. I talked about it and some other books in some old posts. REA was good for AP, but for SATII I didn't use it. Nothing beats AMSCO.

If u don't mind me asking, what was your score? And im thinking of getting these 3 books for US History:Barrons(harding then real thing,makes u very prepared),kaplan, and offical study guide(test only). what do u think of it?

I didn't want to come off as bragging/pretentious lol but I got 5/800.
Like I said, I didn't like Barrons. It didn't even make me feel prepared. After taking the test and looking back at it, it has way too much focus on political history (it's divided into presidential terms) and lacks a lot of the social trends (things that come to mind: feminist movement, literature, immigration, etc.) And barrons AP book just has free response questions and how to answer them, not any real preparation content (which definitely won't help for SAT if it's the AP the book you're talking about).
The official guide's test is a good idea. Also do the (free) sparknotes tests online for sure.
Kaplan: I only used their AP book, it just has terms listed in each chapter and brief descriptions/definitions (this was an old edition, things may have changed). I don't know about the SATII book.

Go AMSCO. The students who took APUSH in my school got 5s and 750s+ on their AP Exams and SAT IIs, respectively, and have felt completely prepared after completing the book. DBQ assistance, essay assistance, MC assistance: it's just fantastic.

AMSCO is all you need. AMSCO alone got me an A+ in the AP course, a 5 on the exam, and a 760 on the SAT subject test. Hands down, it is the best.

I have a question...where would you go to get it?
and yeah i know bookstores, amazon.com blah blah blah....but the books store which i looked didn't have it, and amazon.com only has old copies.
