AP English Lit exam format question

I took English Language & Comp last year, and there was about a 15 min. reading period before we had to start writing the essays. I'm also taking USH and Bio this year, and my teachers tell me there is a reading period for that as well before the DBQs/FRQs.
So is there a similar time period for this exam...or do we have to read/analyze the piece and write everything in 40 min?
