M.ARCH to D.ARCH

The National Architecture Accreditation Board has recently created a new architecture degree entitled, D.ARCH. The new Doctorate of Architecture program requirements are nearly identical to existing 3+ M.ARCH programs. The NAAB states that Universities with 3+ M.ARCH programs may change their titles to D.ARCH. The new degrees can be offered retroactively. More information and a petition can be found at www.marchtodarch.com. Thank you.

This is ridiculous. If the name of the degree is going to be changed, it should be changed across the board. Now there are going to be even more conflicting degrees which will only add to the confusion which is inherent right now in the Barch/March1 debate.
