Landscape architecture

I'm a former architecture major and once I got out of it people have been suggesting that I get into LA. I used to think it was the same as an architecture major with some botany courses thrown into it. Now that I've read a few things about LA I'm thinking my assumptions were incorrect.

How would you compare the two fields?
