I've been contemplating studying in Spain (for my entire degree, not as a study abroad) to get my M.Arch. It seems that Architecture is a field that is respected throughout Europe and the States, regardless of where you study. Is this true? If I were to get my degree in Spain, could I work in the States? Would I be handicapped in my options? Thanks!
spain right now is the forefront in contemporary architecture in europe right now. so much is getting built in spain and the culture has a lot of respect for architecture. there are also a lot of good schools there as well.
my current professor is from spain and was trained in spain as well. she later worked for zaha hadid and FOA.
one thing i would warn you though is if you plan on practicing in the states, you may face difficulties in getting your license to practice as an architect. consult the NAAB first to see what the conditions are
My parents live in Valencia, Spain and they told me there are lots of good schoold for Architecture & Design over there. So, if I don't transfer into my dream Architecture schools in the US, I am going to Spain and it is not that much expensive I am from Bulgaria btw so I respect European schools!!!
