portfolio advice

I applied to cal poly pomona, cal poly slo, university of oregon and cal college of the arts (i forgot to apply to the Pratt! :S) for arch and am putting togehter my portfolio.

I don't have like any arch material, like cad or tech. drawings...they just wanted like creative visual arts to judge my ability..

is it common to have a lot of black and white pieces or do they prefer colored work. i have a couple color pieces but its mostly b/w.

i have had like no good art training, i have had four years of it, but my school has a crappy art program..

if anyone wants to see it and give me advice i would appreciate it.
