I don't have any personal info, but According to USNews:

Penn State - % of need met 55% (avg need based scholarship $5000)
SUNY Bufallo - No info
Carnegie Mellon - % of need met 79% (average need based scholarship $18,126)
Pratt -% of need met 67% (average need based scholarship $8301)
Northeastern - % of need met 64% (average need based scholarship $13660)

So, you are really not looking at schools with great aid.

My son applied to Penn State and Suny Bufallo as well. We are OOS for Penn State and although my son loves the school, I think financially it's going to be tough. We live in NY so SUNY is our financial safety. He also accepted to Tulane and North Carolina State and they are known for good aid (something like 95% for Tulane and 80% for North Carolina State.)

Good luck I hope you get into Carnegie Mellon and they give you lots of $$$
