Pre-College Internships

Today I called a couple places in my area looking for an internship.

Does anyone on here work in a firm as an intern? How does it work? Should I expect to be paid for my work, or is it purely experience? Personally, I don't care. The experience is worth tons in itself!

Anyway, I would appreciate some input if you have any!
