A situation many Architect wannabees confront

Hello!
Since Architecture Graduate Schools seem so competitive, I would please like to know how one's B.A major could affect where they go for graduate studies.
I'm currently in the process of chosing were to go for my undergraduate studies with the hope that I will some day become an accredited Architect and my choices are attending a LAC or getting a B.A in Arch at a University.
(I would also like to know what majors would be recommended if I decide to attend the LAC which offers no architecture program besides study abroad programs)
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and opinions

Really any major is fine, as long as you can find a way to supplement for interests in architecture. If you major in psychology, you can look into environmental psych (study of relationship btwn humans and surroundings). There's also anthro, soc, philosophy, geology, civ eng, art hist...etc
I'm sure you can even spin biology in an architectural manner (possibly intertwining community health with the built environment)
Really, it's just up to what interests you. Attending a LAC affords one the possibility of testing the waters for any given major before committing.

Psychology is one interesting major that will not put you into sleep! Well, to answer your question, I've seen many psych, history, art history, literature majors who are studying architecture in graduate school. I am on that route and preparing for the graduate school by majoring in psychology (no kidding), minoring in architecture and multimedia and learning to use rhino.

LACs are excellent, but the BA in architecture will make you qualify for the advanced standing option at Harvard GSD, it totally depends on what you prefer. IMHO, LACs are better places for learning.
