Who Got In???

What's up you guys this is my first thread but I was just wondering who all got in and is going to ASU?!?!

I'm currently trying to make a decision between ASU and the U of A and I really need some insight on why everyone who is going to ASU next year chose to go there!!! For example if you could write about the social life at ASU, the academics, the dorms, etc. Anything that would help compel me with my decision would be very much appreciated.

I NEED ALL THE ADVICE I CAN GET SO PLEASE HELP!!!!

Me!

Not many people get denied from asu...sadly.
Where are you from? Cause usually people from arizona know all about the differences between the two. They are on completely different ends of the spectrum in terms of social appeal and on academics. It really depends on who you are and what you want to do.
The business school at ASU is waaay better than UofA, but the med and nursing schools at uofa win hands down. ASU has more of a party atmosphere while UofA is really laid back.

Im totally biased to ASU, so its really up to you and who you are.

Deciding between U of A and ASU as well, but ASU gave me a larger scholarship, the honors college is better there, the business school is better there, and Tuscon is a horrible town.

Basically, I'm 95% sure I'm going to ASU.

I got in, too!

As far as ASU is concerned, ASU has an engineering program...U of A doesn't...

Christalena2 I am from Erie, Pennsylvania but my family is moving to Arizona after my senior year. I want to become a doctor but at the same time I want to have a great/EXCITING college experience. I've heard that college is the best time of your life so I still want to go to a fun school but at the same time getting a good education. Did you look at the U of A even though you decided to attend ASU? Because I know that U of A has an affiliated med school so that would def. be a plus, but at the same time I NEED to have a fun college experience. What do you think?

I got accepted to UofA, but my sister is a junior at ASU and i live only 20 minutes away from the Tempe campus...it is soooo exciting. Ive been to lots of parties, a few dorms, and have taken an "unofficial" tour. Ive also stayed at a UofA dorm for a week. If you are looking for an exciting college experience, I would definitely choose ASU. You can always take the initial classes there and then transfer to a good medical school like UofA. I also have some friends who go to UofA, and they like it there too, but ASU is a bit more upbeat and my type.

Hey BusinessGuy, i got into the honors college, but ASU didnt give me any scholarships...interesting eh?

Yes that is interesting. I think the scholarships are very numbers driven (especially SATs) while the honors college takes into account your ECs, essays, and other qualities.

I got a 1390 (2000) on the SAT and 3.5 ABOR gpa, and nothing amazing for ECs, so I'm thinking that my SAT scores kind of carried me.

BusinessGuy: they actually use gpa for scholarships...your core curriculum, unweighted gpa...Ive gotten mostly b's but a few a's in more core...and therefore the gpa is somewhat lower. I got 1970 on mt SAT's...not much lower than you, so it was probably your gpa that got you the scholarship
