Wich school is honestly better? ASU or UA

I have been accepted to ASU and UA. I am currently commited to UA but am still thinking about ASU. I was originally denied by ASU but later accepted so i guess UA grew on me since they accepted me without any problems. I have been dreaming of going to ASU since i was a freshman.. I will be studying political science next year at either school. Overall wich school is better, gives a better expierence, better rep, better oppurtunitys for a career in law? It such a hard decisions because im having trouble finding differences between the two. Any help would be appreciated

I'd say that the more serious of the two is UA, but that goes to say that neither by any means are top-tier schools.
Both schools have more parties than you could imagine, but I hear that ASU has the better girls. Not sure if that affects your decision or not. Tucson (UA) is a better place to be though IMO.

I'm a political science major and I chose U of A over ASU, because of what I considered better academic opportunities. I get a much larger scholarship to ASU, but I still chose U of A. But if you want to go to ASU better, then just go there. I met a girl who's a poli sci major and she loved ASU. All that matters is what you want.

For a career in law, either school will be fine. It is more of how you apply yourself once you are in college. UA has a slightly better reputation than ASU outside of Barrett but not by much. You can go by how you feel and knowing that either way will be OK.

Years ago, UA was better academically than ASU but that is no longer true. While UA still has the edge for certain subjects (life sciences, astronomy, physics, and dance, come to mind), ASU is better for others. I don't really know about either school's political science department.

One difference you might consider is the location of the two schools. Tucson is much, much smaller than metropolitan Phoenix and consequently there is much less to do off-campus. Also, Phoenix can offer far more opportunities for internships and part-time/summer jobs.

Keep in mind that Phoenix is also the state capital. As a political science major, I would think that the the possibility of working with the State legislature or the governor's office might be attractive to you.

Yeah, I also chose U of A because I am applying for an internship with Gabrielle Giffords, whom I would love to work for. One of my good friends is a political science major and he is going to ASU because there are more opportunities with politics.

I met someone whose child is graduating from ASU this year. She said it's one of the largest campuses in the country right now. lots of california types as well, a southern friend of ours left because of this.

she said u of a was a smaller campus.

but son is interested in biomedical engineering, and she recommended ASU over UA for that.

ASU has a great swim team and baseball team, if you like those sports.

For law opportunities (and pretty much everything else except for medical or astronomy), Barrett > UofA > ASU. If you can't get into Barrett, I'd choose UofA, but if you do get accepted to Barrett it is far and away a better opportunity and there are loads of benefits as far as internships and studying abroad goes. UofA honors college doesn't quite treat their students as honors students from what I have been told by the students themselves. Plus, the Barrett dorms are incredible, they aren't finished yet but should be by August. If you are in state or have the opportunity to come down to AZ, I highly recommend checking out both the Barrett campus (or what is built of it) and the UofA campus. Barrett's program and campus are extremely impressive.

For a career in law both are just as good if not U of A would be better for Law technically but you wont be going to U of A I suspect for Law school, your choice look at the city around, cost of living, opportunities. Good luck, cant go wrong either way.

If you're planning on going to law school (like I am), I've heard it doesn't really matter which undergrad school you go to. Employers are going to look at your law school resume. I'm majoring in management and W.P. Carey is one of the best business school's so that was one of the reasons why I chose ASU. Also I've heard that Tuscon is a dump, but then again I heard that from ASU students and fans. I loved the campus though when I visited. The baseball team also had a huge impact on my choice since I'm looking to be a sports agent for baseball players and I may be getting a job as a student manager for the team, which could lead to a scholarship in my junior and senior years.

Have you visited both campuses?

So many people say Tucson is a dump, but it's really not. There is some ghetto around it, but it's the same at many city campuses, and at ASU. And I agree that you should like the campus also.

I have visited ASU..loved it. However, I have not visited U of A. Im leaning towards U of A since I already commited and everything. I have 7 days to make a choice so im prob gona go to U of A. The thing that i loved about ASU is that scottsdale is the illest town ever and phx is pretty badass too plus there tons of oppurtunities there. Im not so sure about tucson since i havent seen it yet. Im not gona be able to visit U of A be4 i have to make my decision.
