Can I get into ASU based on this alone?

On the admissions page, it says I have to meet at least ONE aptitude requirement. This is what the page says:

Students must meet one of the following aptitude requirements:

* 3.0 GPA in competency courses (2.5 - 2.99 considered)
* Top 25% (top 26-50% considered)
* ACT 22 (24 nonresidents)*
* SAT Reasoning 1040 (1110 nonresidents)*

*ASU does not require the writing portion of these tests.

Here's where it gets interesting. In my class rank, I am #90 out of 440. HOWEVER, my GPA is only 2.3. This is because I go to one of the worse high schools in the state of New Jersey. So most students have less than 2.0GPAs.

So technically I am in the Top 25% of the class. Would that get me in? Or is my GPA still too low? I've never failed a class other than pre-cal. So I meet the unit requirements as well. Here's the page if anybody wants to see it.

Are you me? This is weird.

I also have a GPA around 2.3.
I also go to one of the worst high schools in New Jersey.
I also have a good class rank despite my GPA.
I also am interested in ASU.
And my name is also Jon.

This is strange.

To answer your question, a lot depends on your SAT scores. Have you taken it? What were your scores?

From what I understand, you can get into ASU as long as you have a pulse.

LOL, sorry I couldn't resist.

Anyway, it looks to me like you CAN get in (as in you meet the requirements), but might have trouble actually getting in. What are your other stats?

No not necessarily, you can't have more than 4 D's also on your transcript especially in the areas of Foreign Languages, Math, and Sciences, but you can replace them with high ACT/SAT scores.

They will probably ask for your 7th semester grades despite your ranking. They are asking for my son's and he has a 2.92.

JStar7, we haven't heard yet. He's taking the SAT again as I type this. If you have an SAT of 1110 or ACT of 24 and you are OOS you should have no problem. Having spoken with an admissions counselor a few times, I'd say your/my son's chances are fairly good. Do you need Financial Aid, because that could make it a bit more difficult. Good Luck!
