Are we allowed to send extra pieces? I know a letter is relatively standard, but I've never known anyone else who applied to an art college, so I'm a bit confused regarding the material we're recommended/allowed to send in regards to wait-list.

I think I'm going to deposit at Parsons first (though it's so expensive). What about you?

here's something, again, from Lucy's group, when someone asked what she could do/send to improve her wait-list status:

"In general we call by group, but we like to call students in a group who have kept in touch with us and who have a strong interest in attending. This is not an invitation to call us every day, but it may be worthwhile checking in on a weekly basis to find out where we're at. You are welcome to e-mail me in the office with any updates, and I'm happy to share with the committee."

Her email I believe is lking@risd.edu...if you guys are really committed to going to RISD, I think she's the right person for you guys to talk to. Good luck!

^ Isn't it a little late to send in extra work? They sent out their scholarships today and yesterday.

Thank you, kalonity! I just sent in my letter to RISD, so hopefully it'll make even the slightest form of impact.

I'm a advanced transfer and I got my stuff in kind of late (yeah, even later than the 3/15 transfer student deadline), and they told me that I won't be hearing from them until 4/22. Do you guys think they are just waiting for people to turn them down before they will even consider me?

Marionette, why don't you try asking lucy on facebook? She's quite quick with her responses, and she would be the one who would be able to tell you best.

I've gotten into PARSONS!
i got a phone call today saying i was removed from the wait-list!
I'm happy, but i have already decided to go to Otis for my first year and paid the deposit already. besides, Otis offered me over $20,000 scholarships. Dose anyone know, dose Parsons accepts credit from Otis? they are connected in a way. well, i just want to know for sure.

Congratulations shuya! (: I don't know the answer to your question, but maybe try calling into Otis? The counselors there are usually very nice. Good luck, and good job again

Thanks freakyne55! I think I will. I'm due to hear from them any day now. I can probably call them and find out faster, but I'd rather be rejected by a letter than making someone break the news to me on the phone (that'd be a pretty uncomfortable phone call, at least for me). I'm sorry to sound so pessimistic, but I really don't want to get my hopes up at this point.

good luck!!!
funny story-- Parsons emailed me again asking for test scores, so I sent back a terse email telling them I'd matriculated at RISD hoping to ruffle some feathers....except then the guy emailed me back and said he was a RISD alum. lollll.
